Cabin safety bulletin 14 and 15: Cabin safety incident investigation

Cabin safety bulletin 14 and 15 is a combined bulletin providing operator guidance material for cabin safety investigators responsible for investigating an incident.

This bulletin should be read in conjunction with an operator’s Safety Management System (SMS).

Purpose

Cabin safety bulletin 14/15 provides guidance for cabin safety investigators responsible for investigation of an incident.

The bulletin provides examples and material you can apply when building a report that relates to a fire, smoke, or fume occurrence.

Other aspects required during an incident investigation are outside the scope of this bulletin.

The bulletin does not seek to replace formal cabin safety investigator training.

This bulletin describes an example of an acceptable means, but not the only means, of demonstrating compliance with regulations and standards.

On its own, this bulletin does not change, create, amend or permit deviations from regulatory requirements, nor does it establish minimum standards.
