Digital aircraft maintenance engineer licences

Licensed aircraft maintenance engineers (LAME) can now carry their Part 66 licence digitally.

Digital licences are a convenient way to verify your details all in one easily accessible place.

Digital licences contain:

  • licence categories and subcategories
  • aircraft type ratings
  • exclusions.

myCASA account holders can scan a QR code to see their digital licences. This includes supervisors and other key personnel to confirm the details on the licence.

Accessing digital licences

LAMEs can access digital licences if they hold a:

  • Category A: Line maintenance certifying mechanic licence
  • Category B1: Maintenance certifying engineer (mechanical) licence
  • Category B2: Maintenance certifying engineer (avionics) licence
  • Category C: Base maintenance certifying engineer licence.

Access to digital licences is through the myCASA portal. You will need to create a myCASA account to view and download the digital licence.

There may be some differences between the information that appears on your digital licence to what appears on your physical licence. This is due to changes in licensing privileges and standards, and changes in type ratings.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • removal of E10 on B1.1 licences
  • inclusion of I3 on B2 licences
  • de-rated aircraft like B1.2, DC3 and radial piston engines
  • displays of some aircraft type ratings that have changed over time (refer to Part 66 MOS).

These exceptions only appear on physical licences. If you want these to still appear, you will need to complete Form 830. After you pay the administration fee we will issue a new physical licence.
