The aerodromes unit provides this information to assist with the operational needs of aerodrome operators.
Our procedures manual provides the process to be followed to approve aerodrome rescue and firefighting service (ARFFS) providers. The accreditation process for training providers of aerodrome rescue and firefighting services is also included in the manual.
The Australian Aviation Wildlife Hazard Group (AAWHG) is recognised as Australia’s primary aviation wildlife hazard management reference body, and fulfils Australia’s commitment to have a national bird strike committee as recommended by ICAO.

An aerodrome manual is a fundamental requirement in obtaining and maintaining aerodrome certification.
To assist in the development of a compliant aerodrome manual, a manual template and guide aligned with the new rules which commence in August 2020, is now available.
The manual template for the existing rules has been withdrawn and is available on request.
