Part 4A of CAR Maintenance

Part 4A of Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) sets out the majority of the rules relating to the maintenance of Australian aircraft other than aircraft covered by Part 42 of CASR. This includes:

  • maintenance tasks required for class A and B aircraft
  • provisions about maintenance schedules and systems of maintenance
  • provisions as to how maintenance is to be carried out including the installation and use of aircraft components.

  • aircraft operators
  • maintenance personnel
  • maintenance organisations.
