There may be times when you need to notify us of changes to your operations manual or exposition. You must notify the type of change and whether they are either a:
- significant change
- non-significant change.
You can use myCASA to submit:
- Part 42 – significant and non-significant changes
- ReOC (Part 101 MOS) – non-significant changes
- AOC Part 119 – non-significant changes
- Part 131 – non-significant changes
- Part 137 – non-significant changes
- Part 138 – non-significant changes
- Part 141 and 142 – non-significant changes
- Part 145 – significant and non-significant changes.
We are adding the ability to submit significant changes in myCASA for more parts in the coming months.
Significant change
The definition of what is considered a significant change depends on the Part. You can find a list of significant changes in the relevant legislation. While these changes are not the same across the different legislation, there are some common significant changes across legislation. These can include:
- changes to operational locations
- changes to organisational structure
- other changes that do not maintain or improve, or are not likely to maintain or improve, aviation safety.
Approval of a significant change is chargeable under the Civil Aviation (Fees) Regulations 1995. You will receive an estimate of costs from us to assess these changes.
Use myCASA to notify us of significant changes to Part 145 and Part 42.G CAMO approval certificate.
If you choose not to submit your significant changes using myCASA, complete the following forms to apply for a significant change:
- Application for Aerial Work Operations (Part 138)
- Application for Balloon Transport AOC and/or Balloon Flying Training (Part 131)
- Application for CASR Part 145 Approval Certificate (Part 145)
- Application for CASR Subpart 42.G CAMO Approval Certificate (Part 42). This is used for certificate re-issue
- Use the Significant and Non-Significant Changes form if your significant changes to Part 42 do not require certificate re-issue
- Application for Air Transport AOC and associated approvals (Part 119)
- Application for Flight Training Operator Certificate (Part 141 and Part 142)
- Application for RPA operator’s certificate (ReOC) (initial issue/variation/renewal). This is used for certificate re-issue or change of nominated key personnel.
- Use the RPA Operator's Certificate (ReOC) - significant change approval or notification of non-significant changes for all other significant changes.
- Application for a Part 147 MTO – Initial Approval or Change (Part 147).
Non-significant change
A non-significant change is any other change that doesn’t fall into the definition of a significant change. This can vary based on each rule and each operator.
Non-significant changes are not chargeable items under the Civil Aviation (Fees) Regulations 1995 and you will not receive an estimate for these changes. However, administrative costs apply if you require your certificate to be re-issued.
If you choose not to submit your non-significant changes through the myCASA portal, use the following forms to notify us of your non-significant changes:
- Notification of non-significant changes to CASR Parts 119, 131 and 138. If you're notifying of non-significant changes to CASR Parts 119, 131 or 138 that requires a re-issue of the certificate (for example change of trading name) you will need to complete and submit the full-length application form for the relevant part
- Application for Air Transport AOC and associated approvals (Part 119)
- Application for Balloon Transport AOC and/or Balloon Flying Training (Part 131)
- Application for Aerial Work Operations (Part 138)
- Application for CASR Part 145 Approval Certificate (Part 145)
- Notification of non-significant changes to CASR Subpart 42.G CAMO (Part 42)
- Application for Flight Training Operator Certificate (Part 141 and Part 142)
- RPA Operator's Certificate (ReOC) - significant change approval or notification of non-significant changes

- Part 142 of CASR Integrated and multi-crew pilot flight training, contracted recurrent training and contracted checking
- Part 145 of CASR Continuing airworthiness approved maintenance organisations
- Part 147 of CASR Continuing airworthiness maintenance training organisations.
