What can operators do?
You can help maintain operations during supply chain issues by:
- planning early with maintainers and suppliers to allow enough lead time for maintenance
- working with OEMs on parts availability, including regional stock where possible
- keeping suitable stocks of spares and consumables for planned and unplanned maintenance
- contacting the regulator early if you need any allowances (usually for non-airworthiness items, with OEM support)
- working with other operators to share or pool spare parts where appropriate
- using data systems (like FDM and HUMS) to predict issues and reduce unexpected maintenance needs.
