Issue: older aircraft

Operators of older (unsupported) aircraft types do not get the continuous knowledge enhancement.

What can CASR Part 121 operators do?

If you are operating aircraft that are no longer actively supported by the OEM you will need to consider the following:

  • seeking out best practice
  • adopting where possible.

For example, this will apply to you if the OEM doesn’t provide flight manual updates or changes.

What is CASA doing or has already delivered?

We have published AMC/GM Australian air transport operations – larger aeroplanes to guide organisations to best practice in implementing CASR Part 121 requirements.

This guidance is not specific to aircraft. Operators will need to apply this guidance to their own specific aircraft and operations when incorporating into SOPs.
