Conclusion

The Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus) SSRP workshop identified a range of safety risks affecting the sector. These included operational, technology, human performance and airworthiness issues.

Many of these risks are not new. However, participants said they are becoming more complex as technology changes and more aircraft share the same airspace.

The workshop gave us a better understanding of the challenges facing the sector. Participants shared practical experience that will help shape future safety education, industry engagement and regulatory activities.

We will continue to improve safety by working with:

  • Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus)
  • Approved Self-administering Aviation Organisations (ASAOs)
  • the wider aviation industry.
