Smaller aeroplane operators now have access to a new Plain English Guide.

An aeroplane with its door open sitting on the apron of an airport

The guide clearly explains the rules under Part 135, including Part 119, of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations. It simplifies complex regulatory language and helps you understand and meet your obligations.

This covers key concepts for air transport operations in smaller aeroplanes, including:

  • carrying passengers
  • carrying cargo
  • conducting medical transport operations.

The guide:

  • sets out what needs to go in your exposition
  • uses clear, positive plain English
  • sets out the regulations and standards in logical chapters and section
  • includes relevant parts of exemptions in the related sections of the guide
  • can be printed and taken into CASA exams where printed regulations are allowed.

We’re keen to hear whether the guide hits the mark, as well as ideas for future versions.

You can download the free guide from our website now. Print copies will be available later this year.
