If you want to have your flight crew aeronautical knowledge exam result reassessed, contact Flight Crew Licensing.
We have 2 options for you to have your most recent attempt of an exam reassessed:
- an informal reassessment ‘free of charge’ but we limit it to one or 2 questions only
- a formal reassessment where we review all questions in your exam - this will cost $130.
You need to send your application within 14 days of the date of the exam.
We will not accept applications received after this date.
If you want to have a reassessment, you must supply:
- ARN and name
- contact telephone number
- exam type, for example CMET
- date of sitting.
For an informal reassessment you should detail which one or 2 questions you would like to be reviewed. You may use your Knowledge deficiency report (KDR) comments or a statement about the questions, such as 'seat belts' to identify the questions.
For a formal reassessment you need to include credit card details including:
- credit card name
- number and expiry date
- a signed authorisation for CASA to debit $130 for the reassessment.
A receipt will be sent to you.
When submitting your application you should:
- be as specific and constructive
- comment with as much detail as possible on why you think the question may be incorrect
- avoid being too general
- avoid personal issues.
We will reassess the exam when we have the payment and give you a report that details:
- name and date the exam was reassessed
- result of reassessment, whether there has been any change of scoring
- the final score.
We may include a personalised training debrief in the report and the reassessment decision is final.
If as a result of a reassessment, whether informal or a formal reassessment, it is found necessary to amend a candidate's result, then an amended Result Advice/Knowledge Deficiency Report will be posted to the candidate and their official result amended in CASA's records.
Candidates who do submit a request for reassessment of an exam should:
- realise that all questions have been thoroughly checked and independently validated prior to being entered into an exam question bank. Hence it is unlikely that there would be any change to their exam result.
- not re-book that subject until after they learn the outcome of any reassessment, just in case their result is amended.
