To get a CASA Part 66 'modular' aircraft engineer licence, or an extension of privileges on the modular licence, an applicant needs:
- basic knowledge – (ref: 66.A.25 and Appendix I of 66 MOS)
- basic experience – (ref: 66.A.30 of 66 MOS)

Career pathway examples
The following are examples of typical career pathways to obtain a Part 66 aircraft engineer licence in Category B1 (mechanical) or Category B2 (avionics), using the flexibility of the 'modular' training pathway.
Please note, for the following pathways:
- B1 pathway: there is no specific requirement for you to gain the airframe licence as the initial licence.
- B2 pathway: there is no specific requirement for you to gain the electrical systems licence as the initial licence.
