CASA-Approved Aviation Consultants (CAACs) are doctors with extra training in aerospace medicine.
They give advice to both their patients and CASA about how illnesses or treatments might affect flying.
Finding a CAAC
Once CAACs finish their training, they can choose to list themselves on our aviation medical contacts search. This helps pilots and others know who to contact for help.
Complex cases
We might also ask CAACs for advice in more complex medical cases. They give advice, but they don’t make final decisions.
What they can’t do
CAACs do not do aviation medical examinations for medical certificates unless they are also DAMEs.
They also cannot make decisions about aviation medical certificates under Part 67.
