Air transport operators must hold an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) issued under Part 119 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR).
Part 119 of CASR regulations for air transport operators include requirements for:
- scalable Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- qualifications for key personnel
- scalable training and checking systems
- scalable human factors and non-technical training
- requirements for change management for operations.
Part 133 of CASR contains the rules for air transportation in rotorcraft. This includes:
- flight limitations
- documentation requirements
- operational procedures including flight preparation and planning
- fuel, instrument, and system requirements
- performance and weight and balance requirements
- equipment requirements
- flight crew requirements including recent experience and training and checking
All operators and pilots also need to comply with Part 91 of CASR General operating and flight rules. Please note Part 133 may add to or turn off some Part 91 requirements either completely or partially.
