We’re seeking feedback on a draft advisory circular (AC) on safety management systems (SMS) for aerodromes.
Date
The updated AC is intended to provide guidance and information to operators of large and/or busy certified aerodromes, including international airports, in support of establishing and maintaining an appropriate SMS.
Additionally, this AC provides guidance to all operators of certified aerodromes seeking to realise the safety benefits of establishing an SMS.
The draft AC provides guidance on:
- general requirements of an SMS
- structure
- safety risk management process
- safety assurance
- safety promotion.
This draft AC will be of interest to certified aerodrome operators
