The print edition of the latest Safety behaviours: Human factors for pilots resource kit is here!

The booklets of the Safety Behaviours: Human Factors for pilots kit arranged in a row with their storage box sitting behind them

This resource is handy for small air transport operators who will need to have a human factors training program in place for personnel by the end of 2026.

This kit is an acceptable means of compliance, meaning we recognise the modules within the kit as a valuable resource for developing internal human factors training programs.

The kit is designed to help aviation professionals strengthen safety culture and improve decision-making, communication, teamwork, and human performance.

What’s new

The latest update shifts the resource kit from a reference guide into a complete, ready-to-use training solution.

  1. Structured training package
    • Introduction of a digital facilitator guide with step-by-step session plans
    • Designed to support delivery of human factors and non-technical skills (HFNTS) training, not just self-study
  2. Video-based learning
    • Topic-based videos aligned to each human factors area
    • Scenario-based videos that allow pilots to apply judgement and decision-making in realistic situations
  3. Interactive learning tools
    • Updated workbook and practical exercises
  4. Updated and modernised content
    • Existing topics refreshed with contemporary operational examples
    • Reflects current cockpit environments, including greater use of automation and GNSS, though these are not new subject areas.

The print kit includes 10 booklets and a workbook, all focused on essential human factors principles. It provides practical tools to embed safety behaviours into everyday operations.
