We have published Advisory Circular (AC) 101-06 (AusSORA). It sets the method for assessing complex drone operations in Australia.

From 11 May 2026, you must use AusSORA when applying for beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) and other complex drone operations.
The new AC:
- adapts the JARUS SORA 2.5 framework for Australian conditions
- updates ground risk, containment and operational safety objectives
- replaces SORA 2.0 ground risk assessment – requirement and alternate criteria - TMI – 2024-03 from 11 May 2026.

- Have an application underway? Submit before 11 May 2026 using the current method.
