We're consulting on a draft advisory circular (AC) for the Australian Specific Operations Risk Assessment (AusSORA) framework to better support risk assessments for drone operations in Australia.
Date
The draft AC:
- adapts elements of the JARUS SORA 2.5 framework to Australian conditions
- explains proposed changes to ground risk assessment, containment, and operational safety objectives
- outlines a proposed adjacent area assessment method and how integrity and assurance requirements may apply in future.
These updates aim to make the assessment process clearer and more consistent.
We're seeking industry feedback before finalising the AC. If adopted, the AC would replace TMI 2024-03 and form the basis for future AusSORA assessments.
