Date

We have published the summary of consultation on the proposed changes to make approvals for maintenance of large remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) more efficient.

A large RPA being flown

We proposed to:

  • improve how we make maintenance permissions
  • update outdated language
  • remove obsolete forms and references
  • modernise how applications are submitted.

There was no proposed change to competency standards.

All respondents supported the intent of the changes and the draft amendments. We will proceed with the amendments, update supporting guidance, and continue working with industry and the Technical Working Group on future improvements.
