My safety is in my hands
My commitment to safety
I take pride in my role as an aircraft maintainer, knowing that my work directly impacts the safety of my workmates, passengers, aircrew, and myself. I commit to upholding the highest standards of maintenance, following procedures with precision, and continuously improving my skills. I will not compromise on safety under pressure, and I will speak up when risks arise. I will also support and mentor others, ensuring that knowledge and expertise are shared to maintain the integrity of our profession.
My safety actions
I commit to the following actions:
Adhere to airworthiness standards I will follow airworthiness standards and use relevant maintenance data, so that tasks are completed in the correct sequence, using the right tools and methods to prevent errors, maintain airworthiness, and protect everyone’s safety.
Perform thorough inspections and quality checks I will carefully inspect my work before, during, and after maintenance, double-checking accuracy and identifying potential safety risks, and enforcing strict tool control to maintain aircraft safety.
Maintain accurate and transparent maintenance records I will record all maintenance activities clearly and precisely, ensuring compliance with regulations and creating a reliable safety record for all my work.
Continuously improve my skills and knowledge I will stay informed about industry updates, participate in training, and seek new knowledge to maintain the highest standards of safety and technical expertise.
Stay focused and know my limitations I will only perform maintenance that I am trained and competent to perform when I am physically and mentally prepared, recognising that fatigue, stress, or distractions can compromise safety.
Speak up for safety I will report hazards, question unsafe practices, and support my colleagues in maintaining a safe working environment, knowing that speaking up can prevent accidents.
Lead by example I will mentor others, share knowledge, and promote a workplace where safety, accountability, and continuous improvement are at the core of everything we do.
Why I’m making this pledge

Safety is not just my responsibility – it’s an expectation: every member of the aviation community looks to me to uphold these commitments.
Public commitment matters: by making my pledge public, I demonstrate to myself and others my resolve to prioritise safety in all aspects of my job.
Together, we set the standard: by joining other aircraft maintainers in making this pledge, I help reinforce a culture of safety and professionalism that benefits us all.
