Specific content limitations
Clinical practice guidelines
Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) help Designated Aviation Medical Examiners (DAMEs) to conduct aviation medical examinations. While you can use the CPGs for guidance, you are responsible for using proper clinical judgement when doing medical examinations.
The CPGs reflect what we may consider when we decide on an application. They are not policy statements. We always make decisions based on individual applicant circumstances. Continue to the clinical practice guidelines.
Old pilot exam syllabuses
We keep old exam syllabuses for reference only. They are useful for checking past Knowledge Deficiency Reports (KDRs) but not for studying for current exams.
If you are preparing for an exam, use the current syllabus in CASR Part 61 MOS, Schedule 3.
When checking a Day VFR (aeroplane) syllabus reference (for either PPL or CPL exams), the first digit will always be either a 1 or a 2. This indicates which 'block' of the aeroplane syllabus that item may be within.
The following is an example of the references:
A.2.7.1.1(b); H.7.1.1(b)
A = aeroplanes
2 = Block 2 which commences on page 3-21 of the Day VFR (aeroplane) syllabus (whereas Block 1 starts on page 3-3)
7.1.1 = Form of the Earth
Sub-item (b) latitude, longitude
H = helicopter
7.1.1 = Form of the Earth
Sub-item (b) latitude, longitude
Our search tools
We offer search tools for your reference and to help you find aviation-related data. We make reasonable efforts to keep the data accurate and reliable, but they may contain errors or be incomplete.
We may change or remove data at any time. We do not warrant the accuracy, currency of completeness of the register. We will accept no liability for any loss you may suffer, as a result of using or relying on it.

Safety advisory notices
These provide important safety information for pilots, maintenance engineers, aircraft owners and the wider aviation community.
They are not directives and don't specify mandatory requirements.
Cancelled safety notices are for historical record only.

Some regulatory powers that have transitioned across to newer regulations may not appear when you search. This includes delegations previously issued under CAR37, CAR262AP(5), CAR262AP(6). These have transitioned to CASR Part 91.
View our airworthiness delegations search tool.
Approved maintenance organisations
This list includes approved maintenance organisations approved under Technical Arrangements in Aviation Maintenance (TA-AM) with partner countries. The search results will tell you if that’s the case.

Dangerous goods training
Only organisations that have asked us to list them will appear. Check details with them to confirm they deliver the training you required.
