Airspace infringement: Hotspots Sunshine Coast

  1. Airspace infringement hotspot north-west of Sunshine Coast

Do not cut the corner when flying between Noosa Heads and Yandina. Follow the Bruce Highway from Eumundi but remain to the west of the highway to stay clear of the zone.

  2. Airspace infringement hotspot Noosa Coastal

Between Noosa Heads and Peregian Beach, when over water, stay at or below 1,500 ft. Past Peregian Beach, southbound, a clearance is required inland and over water.

  3. Airspace infringement hotspot south

Clearance is required for flying the coastal VFR route. Aircraft tracking over water northbound, enter the control zone between Moffat Head (MFH) and Point Cartwright (PTC). Pilots must not proceed north past Currimundi Lake (the inlet just north of Moffat Head) without a clearance from the control tower.

  4. Airspace infringement hotspot south-west

Aircraft tracking around the south-west boundary of the control zone (often deparing from or arriving at Caloundra), cut the corner of the airspace. To ensure you remain clear, track Ewan Maddock Dam or alternatively via the pub at Aussie World, to Caloundra or reverse.
