Plan for your flight crew exam

Before booking any exam, you need to know the exam requirements, polices and information.

You must be familiar with and follow the flight crew exam policies including:

  • syllabus requirements
  • procedures
  • processes
  • Aspeq delivery procedures
  • company business rules.

Make sure you have your photo ID ready. You must present your photo ID to the invigilator before the exam.

If you fail to show an acceptable form of ID you can't attempt the exam

CASA and Aspeq do not work on a '24 hours a day, everyday' concerning the delivery of flight crew exams.

Any request or application needs to allow for a reasonable amount of time for us or Aspeq staff to respond to your request.

Be aware of this during long weekends and festive holiday seasons.

It is your responsibility to manage your exams, allowing for:

  • travel plans, restrictions or other commitments
  • the possibility of illness
  • work or employment related commitments
  • the possibility of failures, including re-training periods that may apply
  • visa restrictions or limitations
  • the need to complete a ‘bundle’ of subject-parts
  • your own needs, plans, restrictions and/or problems.

If you’re living overseas be aware of the re-training periods following a failed exam.

We cannot reduce re-training periods on the basis of personal travel or visas.

For those in Australia planning to travel overseas, you need to be aware of the re-training periods.

You can re-attempt the exams on your return.

We do not allow you to sit flight crew licence exams outside of Australia.

In an exam session, you need to follow the rules of conduct for exams.

Additionally, you also need to abide by the invigilator’s school or company rules for exam sessions.
