If in doubt, ask

What are dangerous goods?

Dangerous goods are articles/substances, which when transported by air, can place people’s health, safety or property at risk.

How does aviation security affect me?

The Australian Department of Infrastructure and Transport screens passengers and baggage for aviation security.

You cannot take some items, such as knives, baseball bats, scissors that pose a threat to security, on board.

To protect you from the threat of liquid explosives, there are also limits to the quantity of some liquids and gels you can take in the cabin of the aircraft.

The Australian Government’s TravelSECURE site has all the details.
