Summary of consultation released on aircraft maintenance engineer licensing
CASA has published a summary of consultation on the issues and possible solutions to be considered in a Part 66 post-implementation review.
We received 70 submissions from the aircraft maintenance sector that identified issues around legislation, licence privileges and aeroskills training.
The post-implementation review will cover Part 66 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 (CASR), the Part 66 Manual of Standards and advisory material. The purpose is to simplify and clarify some aspects of the legislation, as well as address any anomalies, gaps and unintended consequences of the rules.
CASA thanks all members of the aviation community who had their say on this important issue.
Register your interest for a technical working group
A technical working group will be formed under the Aviation Safety Advisory Panel (ASAP) to provide industry advice into the Part 66 post-implementation review. The group will work closely and collaboratively with CASA to develop legislative and non-legislative solutions to the identified issues.
CASA is inviting expressions of interest from members of the aviation community who would like to be involved in the Part 66 post-implementation review or other working groups as they are required. Expressions of interest close 20 October 2017.
