Security Controlled Airports
Security Controlled Airports fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
You need a valid ASIC if you require frequent access to a secure area of a security controlled airport that has Regular Public Transport (RPT) operations. This is a requirement of the Aviation Security Regulations 2005. All persons are required to display an ASIC whilst in the secure areas of a security controlled airport.
If you have any queries regarding whether or not an ASIC is required at a particular airport, or in a specific area of a particular airport, you should contact the airport direct or contact the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
