Project AS 11/14 - Post Implementation Review of MOS Part 139 - Aerodromes - Chapters 1 & 2
Project closed 16 February 2015.
All proposed changes to Chapters 1 and 2 of MOS Part 139 - Aerodromes were incorporated into AS 11/15 - Review of Manual of Standards Part 139 - Aerodromes, Chapter 6 Section 2 - Runway Widths which is now complete.
CASR Part 139 prescribes the rules and procedures for aerodromes that are used for air transport operations. The MOS Part 139 sets out the broad requirements for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of aerodromes engaged in air transport operations.
CASA has identified that amendment action is required in some areas to better clarify current standards in Chapter 1 - Introduction and Chapter 2 - Application of Standards to Aerodromes, so that aerodrome operators do not misinterpret the intent of the standard.
Amend and clarify those sections of MOS Part 139 Chapters 1 and 2 as considered necessary in order to remove any potential for misinterpretation and/or confusion by both aerodrome operators and CASA personnel.
This project was approved by the EM SD&FT on 10 May 2011.
