Prepare for transition
From 1 September 2014, new flight training organisations need to be authorised to conduct operations under Part 141 and/or Part 142 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations.
Flight training organisations operating prior to 1 September 2014 have four years to transition to the new rules in order to continue conducting flight training activities beyond 31 August 2018.
Preparing your documentation and other aspects of your operation is an essential part of complying with the new regulations for current training providers who wish to conduct flight crew training after that date.
CASA has provided a range of information about the new regulations. It is highly recommended that you read this information and understand how the new rules affect your current operations.
CASA’s Technical Assessor Handbooks and sample Part 142 exposition and guidance material are recommended reading materials as they provide information on the considerations CASA will make when assessing compliance with the regulations.
If you want to continue providing flight crew training beyond 31 August 2018, you must apply to transition into the new regulations.
