Military flight crew qualification recognition
Military flight crew are not permitted to fly civilian registered aircraft unless they have been authorised to do so by CASA. As a general rule, such authorisation takes the form of a flight crew licence with associated ratings and aircraft endorsements. The Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) provide Australian Defence Force (ADF) flight crew to be exempt from certain specific requirements for a licence such as exams and flight tests if they hold or have held a pilot qualification which is deemed to be at least equivalent to the licence sought.
What you need to submit
- Application for aviation security check (Form 498 - ASIC if you have at least a current CASA Class 2 medical; if no current CASA medical, apply for ), and
- - Flight Crew Licence Application on the Basis of ADF Qualifications , and
- An English Language Proficiency form.
