Flight Instructor Manual (Aeroplane)
The Flight Instructor Manual (Aeroplane) has been written with the aim of presenting flying instructors of all experience levels a guide to elementary flying training. It is sufficiently comprehensive to cover all aspects of flying training on simple aeroplanes with fixed undercarriages and fixed pitch propellers.
Flight Instructors' Flight Test Guides
The Flight Instructors' Flight Test Guides have been prepared to assist CASA Delegates in the assessment of applicants for the initial issue of Flight Instructor (Aeroplane) Ratings (grades 2 and 3). They will also provide guidance to supervising instructors and trainees in preparing for the flight test.
Support for approved testing officers and flying training organisations
The Flying Training section of the CASA web site has been expanded to provide focused information for all ATOs and all flying training organisations. It will include:
- advice on processing licences and other documents,
- professional support documents and
- CASA's process to work with the flying training industry
Flying training panel
Flight Instructor development and training is fundamental to the maintenance and evolution of flying training quality and standards. For the last decade there has been much industry and internal CASA comment about a perceived decline in the capability of the "current generation" of flying instructors.
CASA is responding to these concerns with a number of initiatives including the formation of a Flying training panel and an updated reissue of the Flight Instructors manual.
