The civil aviation safety authority is responsible for all operational and safety matters relating to civil aviation into, within and from Australian territory. International operations encompasses entry into, transit within and departure from Australian territory, of foreign registered aircraft operating either scheduled or non-scheduled services.
Prior to the conduct of any of the above mentioned operations, operators are required to hold a certificate of permission issued by CASA. Depending on the type of operation, operators may also require other approvals.
