Green CASA helps environment
CASA received a certificate of accreditation for its implementation of a waste management program consistent with the ACT Government’s ACTSmart Office Active Recycling program. CASA is making its mark helping the environment.
The certificate of accreditation is part of a program to help organisations implement more efficient recycling and waste management. The program provides a step-by-step best practice guide to waste management.
The recent audit found that the Canberra office has reduced the amount of waste it sends to landfill by approximately 50 per cent in the last 12 months.
CASA is using the methodology that has allowed CASA to be accredited in the ACT to flow through to the other CASA offices. In particular, the new fit-out at Adelaide and the new office in Melbourne will include comprehensive recycling facilities. CASA has introduced a stationery recycling system in the Canberra office and intends expanding the scope of the initiative in a future accommodation refit.
CASA encourages all staff to maximise recycling, minimise general waste and help CASA meet its corporate environmental responsibilities.
