- Proposed amendments to CAO 100.16
CAO 100.16 is used to cover off distribution and rejection of aeronautical products for aircraft for which the airworthiness is covered by CAR 1988. There was doubt as to whether rejection of aeronautical products was adequately covered for all certificate of approval holders and others involved in aircraft maintenance or just certificate of approval holders for distribution.
The proposed amendment is intended to clarify the application statement so that it is clear that both certificate of approval holders for the purposes of maintenance and a person referred to in paragraph 42ZC (4) (b) of CAR 1988 (an independent LAME) are required to reject an aeronautical product that is defective or not accompanied by a Form 1 from a listed country.
The amended legislation reflects current industry practice and is expected to have minimal impact on industry. No transition period is proposed; the amendment will have immediate effect upon registration.
