Case study: Launch of AviationWorx assists industry
In February 2013, CASA launched a new system to provide industry with a streamlined registration process for seminars and other events and access to eLearning modules.
The system, AviationWorx, provides participants with a personal profile, allowing them to track their professional development, complete online learning material, and access the CASA events calendar for information on future seminars.
CASA is using the new system to engage with industry through projects such as professional development programs for approved testing officers, industry briefings on fatigue management, performance-based navigation seminars, and the calendar for CASA's AvSafety program.
Fuel management and ageing aircraft were the first topics offered as part of the AviationWorx suite of eLearning modules.
In the four months following the launch of AviationWorx, nearly 1,500 aviation industry participants used the system to manage and enhance their professional development.
Future enhancements to the system are expected to include the promotion of all CASA's aviation seminars and events, an extensive catalogue of online content for industry, and access using mobile devices such as tablets.
