Case study 8: Flying instructors flock to conference
CASA’s biennial National Chief Flying Instructors Conference was held in October 2011 and attracted a large number of enthusiastic attendees.
The conference was held in Canberra in conjunction with the Safeskies 2011 Aviation Safety Conference, a prestigious event that brings together aviation safety participants from Australia and overseas.
The National Chief Flying Instructors Conference is an important part of CASA’s approach of working collaboratively with the flying training sector to improve safety through standards. The 2011 conference had two key themes: generational learning, and threat and error management.
Participants were proactive and positive and worked together with genuine engagement. The efforts of the presenters from CASA and industry were appreciated by all who attended, with positive feedback provided to CASA’s organising team.
