Changes to the website
The website looks different. What happened?
We have redeveloped our website to make it more visually appealing, user friendly and importantly, ensuring it is accurate and up to date. It now works on mobile and tablet devices and it is more far accessible. We're really proud of our new website and hope you enjoy using it.
What has changed?
There are lots of great new features on the site including:
- Attractive and engaging new design
- Simplified navigation and page structure
- Works on mobile devices and screen readers
- Improved search functionality
- Ability to customise pages with new feature modules
Can I still use the old site?
No. The old site will be decommissioned and will not be available again.
Will my CASA self-service login details change?
No there will not be any changes to the CASA self-service site or your login details.
Have you made any changes to the CASA online store?
No, the online store is not affected by the web redevelopment.
Parts of the site aren't different, why are things like airworthiness directives still using the old design?
These are actually an entirely different and separate site which was styled to look like the old site. We are hoping to pull all of this content back into the main site soon.
Aircraft register search is different, where are all the old search fields?
All the same data is still there, it can all be searched from the main search box. We have adopted a filtered search, so try using the filters on the left to narrow down your search.
Links and URLs
What is the new website address (URL)?
The URL for the CASA website www.casa.gov.au has not changed.
Will previously bookmarked and linked URLs still work?
Existing URLs should continue to work. Links to pages that have been archived will not work; however, there are not many of these.
I link to content on your website, do I need to change my links?
You may need to update your links. It is advisable to review your page content regularly to ensure the content is current and links are not broken due to changes to the CASA site.
How do I use the site? How do I find what I want?
You can navigate through the site using the menus, use the site map https://www.casa.gov.au/sitemap or search the site using keywords for the information you are interested in.
I can't find the page I'm looking for?
We have implemented new information architecture to better reflect the content on the CASA site. This may mean that a page now sits in a new location. You can use the sitemap https://www.casa.gov.au/sitemap to locate the new page. Please note - some content that was out of date or obsolete has been removed from the site.
Has search changed?
Improvements to the tagging and metadata (content categorisation) associated with each page will result in more intuitive search results.
I can't find what I am looking for in search
Try using the filters on the left, you can narrow down your search by area, content type, topic and date. This should help you find what you're looking for. We also have a new search ranking algorithm which learns from your usage, so you can expect it to get better over time.
Why are all the contacts on the site generic?
Staffing and organisational changes often result in incorrect and outdated contacts on websites. We have used generic contacts to make sure you always have a current email address or telephone number.
How can I provide feedback on the new site?
