AWB 00-1 Issue 2 - Airworthiness Bulletins
AWB 00-1 Issue 2, 4 April 2003
An Airworthiness Bulletin (AWB) is issued to inform the aviation public, in a systematic way, of essential information not considered mandatory. The information contained in an AWB is for information only, and issued by CASA to disseminate information as quickly and as clearly as possible.
The new title Airworthiness Bulletin is to remove any confusion with the introduction of the Advisory Circular (AC) in our revised legislation.
Airworthiness Bulletin Format
Airworthiness Bulletins will be numbered by ATA chapter and will include an issue date and issue status. An index at the beginning of each ATA chapter of the bulletins will provide a contents list of all AWB's within that chapter. Each AWB will be written in the same format as this bulletin. The headings utilised will reflect the information contained within the bulletin. All AWB's will include an effectivity heading. To provide ease in reviewing available information the effectivity identified on each AWB, will also be included within the ATA chapter index. Cancellation or notice that the AWB has been superseded, will be indicated in the applicable index list by deletion of all details except the bulletin number and inclusion of the statement "Cancelled" or "Superseded by". Within the text of the AWB, the use of the words "must and shall" will be avoided.
Use of Airworthiness Bulletins
Whilst these bulletins are for information only, they contain useful information concerned with the airworthiness of aircraft and aeronautical products. We recommend all aircraft owners, operators, certificated organisations, LAME's and pilots review bulletins for applicability and take any action they consider appropriate.
