Aviation medicals are now online
CASA’s new online medical records system, MRS has been released and is ready to use.
Everyone involved in the medical certificate process now uses this secure online system – pilots, air traffic controllers, designated aviation medical examiners, designated aviation ophthalmologists, credentialed optometrists and CASA.
Pilots and air traffic controllers use MRS to apply for medical certificates, pay the processing fee and track the progress of their applications. They will also receive an email to remind them when their next medical is due. First time users of MRS will answer questions about their medical history. This information will be retained in MRS and added to as the years progress.
MRS was introduced to streamline the aviation medical process. It was designed based on feedback from people in the aviation community and medical professionals. As well as being consulted, the aviation community and medical professionals were also involved in testing the secure online system.
