New approach to control cables
Aircraft owners, operators and maintainers need to be aware of a new approach being taken by CASA to the mandatory replacement of a range of primary flight control cable assemblies. This relates to AD/GENERAL/87 Primary Flight Control Cable Assembly Retirement.
The new approach is described in PAD/GENERAL/87 Amdt 1 - Primary Flight Control Cable Terminals - Detailed Visual Inspections which closed for industry comment on 28 June 2017. Comments are currently under consideration.
Changes to CAO 100.5 explained
Several 'equipment' and 'aircraft - general' ADs have been amended as a result of the requirements of these ADs transitioning to CAO 100.5, for those aircraft to which Part 42 of CASR 1998 does not apply.

States of Design
On 1 October 2009, Part 39 changed to incorporate automatic acceptance of State of Design ADs. CASA have produced a list of States of Design for reference.
