Air Navigation, Airspace and Aerodrome Branch

Air Navigation, Airspace and Aerodrome Branch comprises the Office of Airspace Regulation (OAR), the Communication, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management Systems (CNS/ATM) section and the Aerodromes section.

The OAR is responsible for exercising CASA’s authority for airspace regulation in accordance with the Airspace Act 2007 and the Airspace Regulations 2007.

The CNS/ATM Section oversees operator certification and ongoing surveillance of activities relating to instrument approach design and approval, navigation standards and navigation communications and surveillance infrastructure, Air Traffic Service (ATS) training, licensing and ATS provision.

The Aerodromes Section oversees aerodrome operator certification and ongoing surveillance of activities relating to the safety surveillance of aerodromes.
