Aircraft register forms and fees for aircraft registration

Notification of Changes to CASA Aircraft Registration Forms - February 2014
Please read this important information before proceeding to the forms.
- Aircraft registration applications can now be paid for online. For more information read Paying for Fixed Fees.
- Forms 027 Part 2, 032 and 029 now have mandatory requirements relating to identification. For more information read CASR Part 47 – Registration of aircraft and related matters.
- Any individual being appointed as a registered operator must provide evidence of Australian residency, age and nationality. For more information read CASR Part 47 – Registration of aircraft and related matters.
- Form 029 now has a mandatory requirement to provide a photo of the airframe data plate. For further information, please read the Form 029 Guidelines
- Form 028 has a mandatory requirement to provide full aircraft details
Failure to lodge an acceptable application will result in the non-acceptance or refusal of your application and may result in you having to pay additional fees. You must read the relevant guidelines for the application to ensure the form is completed correctly.

Payment of fees
If a fee is applicable to an aircraft registration form, you must pay the fee before the form can be processed. Paying online is the simplest way to achieve this. However, you can also complete the credit card details on the form. Refer to Part 12 of the Schedule of fees for regulatory services.
Form 023 - Application for Change of Registration Mark
Form 023 / Form 023 guidelines
This form should be used by the aircraft registration holder or, if authorised, the registered operator, when applying for a change of registration mark on an aircraft that is already VH registered.
Form 026 - Cancellation of an Aircraft Registration
Form 027 Part 1 - Notice of Transfer of Ownership / Form 027 Part 1 guidelines
This form should be used by the seller (former owner and registration holder) to notify CASA of a change in ownership. This form must be submitted as soon as practicable and, in any case, within 14 days after the date of the transfer of the asset.
Form 027 Part 2 - Application by New Owner to become the Registration Holder / Form 027 Part 2 guidelines
This form should be used by the buyer (new owner) to apply to become the registration holder of a currently registered aircraft. This form must be submitted within 28 days after the date of transfer of the asset. If your aircraft is not currently VH registered and you are applying for an initial registration, use Form 029 (Registration Application).
Note: Late lodgement of Form 027 Part 2 may result in the suspension of the aircraft’s registration.
Form 028 - Application for Mark Reservation
Form 028/ Form 028 guidelines
This form should be used when applying for the reservation of a registration mark. Only one reservation is permitted per form and the reservation will be valid for 12 months only from the date of reservation. Extensions to reservations are not permitted.
Form 029 - Registration Application
Form 029 / Form 029 guidelines
This form should be used by the owner of an aircraft when applying for initial registration. If the aircraft is currently "VH" registered under the name of another entity and that registration is to be transferred, use Form 027 Part 1 and Form 027 Part 2.
If you wish to notify CASA about an appointment of a new registered operator or about a change of ownership you should use Form 032 or Form 027 Part 1 and Form 027 Part 2.
Form 031 - Application for Assignment of Aircraft Dealer’s Mark
Form 031/ Form 031 guidelines
This form should be used by an aircraft dealer when applying for the assignment of dealer’s marks. It is the dealer’s responsibility to ensure that evidence of the dealer’s engagement in the manufacture, sales or distribution of aircraft in Australia is included with this application.
Form 032 / Form 032 guidelines
This form should be used by the registration holder of a registered aircraft when nominating or cancelling the appointment of a registered operator. It may also be used by the current registered operator to cancel its own appointment as the registered operator. A nomination must also be signed and accepted by the nominated registered operator.
Form 099 - Request for Replacement of a Certificate of Registration
Form 099 / Form 099 guidelines
This form (formally Form 033) should be used by the registration holder to request a replacement certificate of registration when the original certificate has been lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged to the point that the certificate contents are no longer legible.
If you require a replacement certificate of registration due to a change in owner, Form 027 Part 1 and Form 027 Part 2. If you require a replacement certificate of registration due to a change in aircraft details, use Form 030. Applicable regulatory fee $65. Please refer to page 2 of the form for payment instructions
Form 1162 - Aviation Reference Number (ARN) Application
Should be used by individuals applying for an ARN.
Form 1170 - Aviation Reference Number (ARN) Application
Should be used by organisations applying for an ARN.
This form may be used if there is a requirement to provide a Statutory Declaration for any registration related matter. This form is not required for the majority of registration related issues and is provided as a service only for use by industry in those cases where the Register specifically requests a Statutory Declaration from an industry member.
