Aerodrome manual template and guide
The aerodrome manual template and guide provide clear references to the legislative requirements and may be used to:
- develop a new aerodrome manual
- update an existing aerodrome manual.
Where possible, example procedures have been provided as a guide. Alternate provisions considering the varying complexities in operating environments and the scalable certification structure have also been included.
Procedures will require tailoring to reflect the uniqueness of the aerodrome’s facilities and operations. It is imperative that an aerodrome operator who elects to adopt any of the sample content can demonstrate that they are operating in accordance with those procedures.
Where a standard in the Part 139 MOS does not apply to the aerodrome, the aerodrome operator is required to maintain a placeholder in their aerodrome manual which records the following information:
- a reference to the relevant Part 139 MOS provision
- the term NOT APPLICABLE or N/A.
CASA has also produced an advisory circular (AC 139.C-01 Aerodrome Manual) that provides additional guidance on developing and maintaining an aerodrome manual.
We also provide a free online tool called the Manual Authoring and Assessment tool (MAAT) that can assist you develop and submit the manual below.
