Part 137 of CASR explanation of changes

Rule change

We’re currently making changes to Part 137 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR).

Part 137 currently applies to aeroplanes engaged in aerial application operations and not rotorcraft. It does not include rotorcraft operations which are currently governed by Part 138.

Part 137 took effect on 26 May 2007. There was a 1-year transition period ending on 25 May 2008.

Part 137 is due for a post implementation review. Part 137 will require changes to the style and content of the existing provisions to ensure consistency with the other operational parts.
