Acceptable Means of Compliance and Guidance Material
An Acceptable Means of Compliance and Guidance Material (AMC/GM) is a single document with indexing that relates to a specific regulatory provision. It provides an applicant with one or more acceptable means of complying with the requirements in the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 (CASR) for the issue of a certificate, licence, permissions, approval or other authorisation. It may also include guidance material to explain the intent of the CASR policy. We’ll usually publish this guidance material in the AMC/GM rather than a separate Advisory Circular.
You don’t have to follow our acceptable means of compliance, but if you do then we’ll issue you the requested authorisation. You can also propose an equivalent means of meeting the requirements, which we will assess to determine whether the requested authorisation can be issued.
