Fatigue rules – 12-month transition extension
As part of our response to COVID-19, we have extended the transition timeframe to the new fatigue rules by 12 months. Most operators will now need to comply with the new rules from 1 July 2021. CASA will now amend CAO 48.1 and update guidance material to reflect the new transition arrangements.
Making it easier for aerodrome operators to take advantage of new rules
To make it easier for aerodrome operators to take advantage of the new Part 139 Aerodrome rules, we are now giving you the option to apply some of the rules ahead of their originally scheduled commencement. If you are considering updating an existing aerodrome facility or applying to register or certify a new aerodrome, the option to opt in early will be of particular benefit.
