Project MS 13/13 - Reissue of Instruments - CASA EX 60/11 and CASA 180/11

Project approved.

Closure notes

Project closed 4 July 2013.

Project objective achieved with the re-issue of both instruments. The instrument numbers are: CASA EX 67/13 and CASA 129/13.

Issue

The CASA EX 60/11 instrument of exemption provides exemptions from various provisions of CAR 1988 for aircraft to which Part 42 applies.

The instrument removes any doubt that for an aircraft to which Part 42 of CASR 1998 applies that the requirements of CAR 1988 do not apply.

The CASA 180/11 authorisation an exemption instrument allows category A licence holders to exercise the privilege of their category A licence on behalf of a CAR 30 organisation by providing appropriate exemption from the requirements that tie that category. A licence to a CASR Part 145 organisation exclusively. The condition of the instrument requires the CAR 30 organisation to train and assess the licence holders in the same way a Part 145 organisation is required to do.

Project objective

The instruments have been in effect for two (2) years and are being renewed to enable their continued use and to facilitate the continued transition of the CASR airworthiness Parts 42, 66, 145 and 147.
