Project MS 11/19 - Amend CAAP 42B-1: CAA Maintenance Schedule to make terminology consistent with the current regulations

Project approved.

Closure notes

Project closed 21 May 2013.

The updated CAAP 42B-1(1) has been published.

Issue

CAAP 42B-1 provides guidance on the use of the CASA maintenance schedule (CAR Schedule 5). The current version of the CAAP 42B-1 was issued in 1992, so its terminology is not consistent with the current regulations, in particular the LAME licence categories that are referenced in the task sign-off sheets.

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to amend CAAP 42B-1 to bring the terminology up to date with the current regulations, in particular the LAME licence categories from CASR Part 66.

No changes to the technical content of the CAAP are proposed for this project. The technical content of this CAAP may be reviewed in a separate project at a later date after the recommendations of the ageing aircraft maintenance plan are known, and to align with any future changes to the maintenance regulations.
