Project approved.

Project closure notes

Project closed 1 March 2011

DASR 4/1994 will be retained pending CASR Part 91 becoming effective.

Issue

Although the operations CAO deal with requirements for flight such as instrumentation and equipment (CAO 20.18), Oxygen (20.7) and emergency equipment (CAO 20.11) the radio carriage requirements are dealt with via an Instrument Number DASR 4/1994.

Given that this instrument and its nature are not generally known, guidance material such as IMR 18 and Aviation Ruling 1/2004 was developed by CASA.

Project Objective

Convert DASR 4/1994 into a CAO - TOR includes consideration of AIP GEN 1.5 to ensure no conflict in aircraft radio/navigation equipment requirements for flight.

Rules affected

CAO 20 equipment series
