Project CS 11/21 - Amendment to CAAP 37-1

Project approved.

Closure notes

Project closed 25 November 2011.

CAAP 37-1(4) has been published.

Issues

Recent changes to CAR 37 and CASR Part 21 render references made in the CAAP to be obsolete. The references may be misleading and cause confusion within Industry. This may lead to non-compliance with the rules. In addition, the recent making of CASR Part 42 means that additional material is required to provide guidelines for those operators working under the new rules.

Project Objectives

The objective of the amendment is to align the CAAP with the current rules, including the recent introduction of CASR Part 42 and hence provide the correct guidance that a CAAP is designed to do.

The amendment will also include the requirements of CEO Policy Notice PN033-2005 Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs) and allow this policy to be cancelled.

This amendment will coincide with changes being made to the CASA MEL/PU procedures manual and will align with that document.
