Project CS 04/01 - Develop standards for time-in-service recording devices
Aircraft Registration, Marking and Certification
This project sets out to examine the concept of fitting tamper-resistant time-recording devices to single-engine helicopters. The helicopter mustering industry has suggested that, rather than rely on aircraft maintenance logs for the service history, some form of recording device could be mandated for fitment to helicopters to provide a more accurate record of the time in service.
Any recommendation to fit a suitable device requires further consideration by both CASA and the affected industry in order to adequately define all regulatory and implementation aspects.
