Albany pilots to reach new heights
Albany pilots can lift their safety skills to new heights at a free aviation seminar next week.
This new seminar will focus on defensive flying to make Albany skies even safer.
All local pilots are invited to take part in the safety seminar being run by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
There will be a focus on threat and error management skills for pilots, as well as communication and situational awareness.
Threats to safe flying can be adverse weather, mechanical problems or other air traffic. Errors by pilots can be fuel mis-management, incorrect aircraft settings or navigation mistakes.
CASA’s Peter Gibson said local pilots will be given practical examples of how to fly defensively to best manage threats and errors.
“Albany pilots can be leaders in aviation safety by attending next week’s seminar,” Mr Gibson said.
“Local pilots have good technical flying skills and can now further enhance their safety performance.
“Our goal is safe skies for all.”
The Albany aviation safety seminar is being held on Thursday 6 September 2018 at 6:30pm at the Albany Aero Club.
People attending are asked to book online at the AvSafety seminars schedule.
